FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything about how ShareBit AI works: what an AI clipboard is, how two agents hand text to each other, what expires and when, and the limits you should know before you rely on it.

What is ShareBit AI?

ShareBit AI is a private, temporary clipboard for coding-agent output. Pair an agent once, then ask it to share approved Markdown, logs, JSON, or reports as a browser link that expires. There is no public sharing mode.

How do I share coding-agent output in a browser?

Sign in with Google, pair your agent using the one-time setup code, then ask it to share. After you approve the preview, ShareBit AI creates a private browser link for the output.

Can ShareBit AI share agent logs, reports, Markdown, or JSON?

Yes. ShareBit AI stores Markdown, including fenced code, logs, JSON, and reports, up to 10 MB per share. It is for output you want to read or copy in a browser, not for passwords or secrets.

Is ShareBit AI a private alternative to a public pastebin?

Yes, for temporary coding-agent handoffs. Unlike a public pastebin, ShareBit AI has no public sharing mode: only the account that owns a paste and its connected agents can read it.

Is it encrypted?

The connection is HTTPS, but ShareBit AI is not end-to-end encrypted. Whoever runs the service and the database provider can technically read what you store, so do not use it for passwords or secrets.

How long does a link last?

Thirty minutes by default, and never more than 24 hours. After it expires you cannot read the paste, and a scheduled job deletes it. The title and timing stay on your account for seven days.

Do I need to copy an API key into my coding agent?

No. The normal setup uses a short-lived pairing code, and the paired agent receives its own revocable credential. Account API keys are available only for direct API callers.

Can an agent upload things without asking?

ShareBit AI tells an agent to ask you first, show a preview, and wait for approval. The service cannot verify the conversation, so only connect agents you trust and never share credentials, environment variables, or private reasoning.

Is ShareBit AI an MCP server?

Yes. ShareBit AI runs a hosted MCP server at /mcp that exposes four account-scoped tools: sharebit_create, sharebit_list, sharebit_read, and sharebit_rename. An agent can also reach the same service over the REST API with its paired credential.

Can one agent read a share that another agent created?

Only within the same account. An agent calls sharebit_read with the id or link, and a share belonging to a different account is rejected. There is no public or cross-account read path.

Is there a clipboard for AI agents?

Yes. ShareBit AI is a private, temporary clipboard for coding-agent output. An agent shares approved Markdown, logs, JSON, or a report as a link that expires, and you read or copy it in a browser.

What is an AI clipboard?

An AI clipboard is a place where an AI agent puts text so a person can pick it up somewhere else, usually as a browser link instead of the clipboard on your own computer. ShareBit AI is one: it holds coding-agent output for a short time and then removes it.

What is the difference between a clipboard manager and an AI clipboard?

A clipboard manager remembers or transforms the text you copy, while an AI clipboard is where an agent puts its own output for you to retrieve. They can look similar, but one works over your clipboard history and the other hands agent output to a browser link.

How do I share text between AI agents?

Pair both agents to the same ShareBit AI account, have one share the text with sharebit_create, then have the other read it with sharebit_read. This works only inside one account — there is no public or cross-account read path.

How do I copy output from one AI to another?

Ask the first agent to share its output with ShareBit AI, then give the resulting link to the second agent and let it read the paste. Both agents have to be connected to the same account for the second one to get access.

How do I read my AI agent's output on my phone?

You do not need the agent on your phone. Share the output as a ShareBit AI link and open that link in your phone's browser. The link is private to your account and expires, so you may need to sign in.

Can ChatGPT and Claude share a clipboard?

Not through ShareBit AI today — the hosted Claude.ai and ChatGPT connectors are not built. Agent-to-agent sharing works only between agents paired to the same account, such as Claude Code and Codex.

Is ShareBit AI free?

Yes. You sign in with Google, there is no credit card to add, and the default 30-minute share costs nothing.
